The Bridge to Belonging is a comprehensive 16-week live therapeutic group coaching programme designed for adoptive parents and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) carers. The programme provides knowledge, therapeutic tools and strategies together with professional & peer support to navigate the complex emotional and behavioural needs of these children.
Programme Overview:
The Bridge to Belonging programme is divided into three phases—Clarity, Connection, and Confidence—guiding parents through the process of understanding and supporting their adopted child’s recovery from trauma. The programme is accessible online and includes practical tasks, reflective exercises, and interactive learning tools.
Programme Structure:
Curriculum: Parents have lifetime access to the online platform, featuring training videos, handouts, and interactive tasks. Coaching: Two individual coaching calls (onboarding and review) and up to 3 hours of live group coaching per week for 16 weeks. Additional monthly support is available post-programme. Community: A private online space (not on social media) for ongoing peer support, sharing successes, and troubleshooting.
Key Elements:
Small Groups: Coaching groups are limited to 4-6 families, with both daytime and evening Zoom sessions available; Holistic Support: Parents are guided through each phase with practical, trauma-informed parenting strategies;. Outcome Focus: Parents set goals, complete outcome measure questionnaires, and receive a completion certificate and report with further recommendations for their child’s therapeutic needs.
