Over the past 23 years I have gained experience working therapeutically within various settings including establishments for young offenders and children’s homes for young people with early childhood experiences of abuse and neglect (developmental trauma or complex PTSD).

I have also worked for 7 years within the field of Infant Mental Health (NHS).  Offering individually tailored therapy for parents and families through pregnancy and with young children under 5 years old who were experiencing difficulties that could impact on the parent-child relationship and/or the family’s emotional wellbeing and development.

Working within an NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) since 2011, I have worked as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing assessments and therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their parents who were experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. I specialise in working relationally with the whole family and with children who are in Local Authority Care or who have been adopted. I have extensive experience in writing and delivering training for other frontline professionals in the field of Developmental Trauma and attachment as well as running parent/carer training and support groups.

I have also jointly set up and run a specialist post sexual abuse clinic for victims of childhood sexual abuse and trauma.

In my current private practice, for the past 10 years  I have been working individually with adults or couples and older adolescents a wide variety of presenting difficulties including:

Anxiety, depression, trauma, and problematic relationship/attachments.

More recently I have developed a 6 month Parent-Child Anxiety Transformation Programme (P-CAT) which is a Therapeutic Coaching Programme for parents/carers who are concerned about their child's Anxiety. The program empowers parents to transform their child's anxiety into greater resilience and confidence.
